Reduction of Waste (Muda)
We use Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify areas of waste. We focus on the seven waste areas: waiting, inventory, transport, motion, over-processing, over-production, and defects. We, then, use process simulation to test improvement alternatives to eliminate or minimize waste. We use MS-Visio and Process Simulator in our VSM implementations.
Reduction of Variation (Mura)
We use Six Sigma methods for reduction of variation. We use the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology for projects aimed at improving an existing business process. We use the Six Sigma Methods we use the DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) methodology for projects aimed at creating new product or process designs. We use best-in-class analytical tools such as Process Simulator and Minitab.
Reduction of Unrealistic Performance Expectations (Muri)
Unreasonable performance expectations result in unpredictable and subpar performance. No staff member can be expected to perform work without proper training, tools, support, and breaks. No machine can be expected to operate without proper setup and preventive maintenance. And, every business process has certain level of complexity, constraints, and resource interdependencies.
